My unforgotable incident..

This is my most unforgottable incident.
I and my family members went on a religious tour to Rameswaram. It was on December 2006. And that too was exactly a day before tsunami. We were staying there for the time period.
The first day was the visit to Rameswaram temple. The temple was really were nice to see and I am sure it is a very religious place. The next day was our plan to visit Dhanushkodi.
We went there by train through Pamban bridge. It was really very attractive to see great water running peacefully under the bridge. I was standing at the door and watching the water flowing beneath. It was around 10.30am when wefinished our visit to the temple at Dhanuskodi and we went to the sea shore. We were wondering at the graceful water running peacefully. My mom wondered that the water is very clear and we were standing inside water longing to have a play. But we had planned for a trip to a place near Rameswaran. So dad didnt let me inside the water. So we hurried back to Rameswaram, this time by bus. The sight of the clear water still remains in my mind.
We returned back to the lodge where we were staying by 12.30 in afternoon. We were travelling by an auto. The auto driver was having a heated argument on something..about a storm or something. My dad got curious and enquired the auto driver. He said nearly many parts of Nagapatnam are destroyed by a sea attack, which had not been known as tsunami by then.
My dad didnt own a mobile by then. And the place where is stayed is completely an out of world place. We had no newspapers, no TV, no communication links. When we returned back to the boarding house my dad hurried off to buy a copy of the evening newspaper. We were having a look at the headlines and the stuff related to that incident.
It was said on the newspaper that this attack happened around 10.30am that day.Imagine the shock we had, because that was the time we were standing inside the water and enjoying its look and glamour. We started querying our mom, what happened to our house. There was no mention of other parts of Tamil Nadu.
Later we were travelling by my dad's office jeep, Kodai FM was broadcasting sad songs and the organiser was talking about these sort of incidents that happened in the past.
The next day we returned home, actually there was no attack at our home. We were happy on being safe, inspite of being actually on the shore of the sea at that time.

My mom said, "Maybe god has some other plans for us" .
